Budum is a rhythmic experience composed by the award-winning Nii Tettey Tetteh and the Kusum Band from Nungua. Inspired by Nana Danso Awuah-Asante’s exhibition From Soul to Humanity, the evening brought together traditional music and dance with contemporary art, highlighting the cultural and spiritual themes of the exhibition and bringing them vividly to life through sound and movement.

The Kusum Ensemble, founded by Nii Tettey Tetteh—winner of Best Traditional Artist at the 2023 VGMA Awards—is an extraordinary collective of musicians and dancers based in Ghana. Renowned for their innovative fusion of traditional Ghanaian music with electrifying jazz and African rhythms, the ensemble delivers a distinctive Ga sound that continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
